We facilitate intergovernmental initiatives and promote regional cooperation on issues related to transboundary air pollution and other environmental issues. AIT RRC.AP provides technical support to the Secretariat of Male' Declaration, and an implementing partner to EANET Secretariat functions. Both intergovernmental networks are working towards regional cooperation on transboundary air pollution issues in the South Asia and East Asia (including South East Asia) regions, respectively.
We work to build the capacities of relevant stakeholders involved in air quality management. In 2021-22, AIT RRC.AP is implementing a capacity-building program targeting policymakers, technical staff, and young researchers and scientists in the ASEAN region, with support from the Asia Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN).
.Air pollution research is a critical factor in an effective air quality protection programme. APC also conducts air quality management needs and gap assessments in Asia- Pacific countries to provide research-based solutions. We coordinate and support research activities on air pollution-related subjects, often in collaboration with academic institutions in the Asian region and other parts of the world. We have published number of scientific articles in international journales along with our partenrs. Together with our partners, we have published a number of scientific articles in international journals.
We provide a platform for all stakeholders to promote science-based and policy-oriented cooperation on air pollution. AIT RRC.AP supports, as appropriate, the development of relevant national and subregional policies relating to air pollution and related environmental issues.
We promote knowledge on environmental and human health aspects of air pollution. AIT RRC.AP is a member of the advisory committee for the Asia Co-benefit Partnership, an initiative of the Ministry of Environment of Japan, hosted by the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES). AIT RRC.AP has surveyed and compiled Best Available Techniques (BATs) used for controlling chemical pollutants in China and India, with support from OECD. AIT RRC.AP is a partner or focal point to the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC), Global Alliance on Health and Pollution (GAHP), International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and many other international organizations.
We support governments and other stakeholders to enhance and further develop air pollution information materials and promote exchange of information and experience.
.APC has provided technical information on air quality management sections. Advanced technical advice for air pollution emission inventory conduction practices, vehicular emissions maintenance standards by providing the best available technological advances for improving vehicular emissions.
APC seeks to bridge the updated information gap by sharing data and information. We have managed the data collected, processed and/or developed under the supervision of RRC.AP or as part of a project/activity organised by RRC.AP. Data available through the website requires permission from RRC.AP to access the database. Please contact Dr Vanisa Surapipith (Vanisa.Surapipith@rrcap.ait.asia) for more information.
